Last weekend, Cece and I ventured to the Monarch WatchFall Open House event at the University of Kansas. We had heard from multiple friends about how much fun the event is every year, and it did NOT disappoint! Besides getting to see lots of gorgeous Monarchs, we also got to visit the pollinator garden which was absolutely gorgeous and full of activity! At one year old, Cece may be a little too young to fully appreciate everything the Monarch Watch had to offer, but she got to toddle around and wave “hi” to all the butterflies and caterpillars so we will count it as a big win. Mom, on the other hand, had a blast and can’t wait to go back next year! Every child is given a chrysalis, and Cece’s is currently hanging in her room. I could not believe how stunning these were in person – honestly, they look like jewels! We are anxiously watching and waiting to see what happens next – while we were at the Monarch Watch we got to see one emerge, which was truly something special! We will be keeping you up to date on what happens!
