This was SUCH a fun shoot (regardless of how frigid it was outdoors)! Pete contacted me weeks ago to say that he and Karah would be visiting Lawrence from Virginia and that he planned to propose on the bridge at Potters Lake. A University of Kansas graduate, the location is very special to him and his family. So special, in fact, that his fathers ashes were spread at Potters Lake. Pete and I communicated via email several times about logistics…its not uncommon at all for photographers to wonder around Potters Lake given the scenery and close proximity to the campanile. Thankfully, I went unnoticed until he had popped the question! It was such a sweet moment and I’m so happy Pete thought about having me there to capture it. Karah, you are one lucky girl!
