The evening of Madelyn’s senior photo shoot was a scorcher, but you sure can’t tell by looking at the photos! 🙂 I LOVE when seniors bring their own ideas and personality into their sessions. She knew at our initial meeting she wanted to go to the train tracks and then to her families barn in North Lawrence. We made a pit stop in between at the Train Depot to take advantage of the light and gorgeous scenery. The highlight for me, though, was our time at her families barn and getting to hear about the history of the land and her memories there. One of the things I love most about photography is the ability to create images for my clients to look at and remember how they felt in that exact moment. What is even more special than that is when they are able to look at a photo and remember not only the moment itself, but also other special moments that location, in this case a barn or old rope swing, bring back.
This post is about Madelyn, but for my wedding photos we went to my grandparents backyard in my hometown for all the reasons I just described. For Madelyn to want to do that as a senior in high school proves she is wise above her years and beautiful on both the inside and outside!
